Hair Care Tips
Hair extensions should be treated just like the natural hair that grows from your crown. Do you want to keep your extensions luxurious and healthy? Follow these easy tips:
Curly Hair:
- Wash your hair one a week with a mild shampoo, or co-wash and follow up with your conditioner of choice. This step is vital. The products that you use on your hair (curl creams, gel, oils, etc.) will weigh your hair down. Shampooing will cleanse your hair of these products, allowing you to restore the natural movement and bounce of the hair.
- Detangle your hair at least twice a week. When detangling your hair, be sure to wet your hair first. It is not recommended to attempt to detangle your hair when it is dry. To make detangling easier, be sure to use a wide toothed comb and conditioner or detangling cream of your choice.
- Once hair is detangled, braid, twist, or plait your hair into the style of your choice.
- Wrap your hair every night in a silk or satin scarf or durag of your choice and then secure it with a silk or satin bonnet. DO NOT go to sleep with wet hair without detangling and braiding it down.
- If you choose to straighten the hair, use a heat protectant. The hair is of a fine texture and is sensitive to heat. Limit heat on the hair.
- To freshen up curls on the go, use a combination of water and conditioner to revitalize the curls
- Have fun with your hair! Try styling your hair in a wild twist out or chic bantu knots, it’s your hair, rock it well!
